More Than 85 Days After Public Beating Of Ken Gladney Charges Still Not Filed Against SEIU Thugs

SEIU members went to work after the Russ Carnahan health care townhall meeting on August 6, 2009 in St. Louis.

The SEIU members beat and kicked black merchant Ken Gladney in the parking lot.

Could you even imagine if this would have happened to a black Obama supporter? It would have been all over the state-run media.
At the same event a woman was smashed in the face by an SEIU member.

Five people were arrested including several SEIU members.

Now, more than 85 days after the attack no charges have been filed against the SEIU thugs.
But, the local media is painting victim Ken Gladney as an idiot shlub for trying to make a few bucks selling flags in the parking lot.

Conservative Wall Street Journal Is Now Nation’s Top Selling Paper

Congratulations to the staff of The Wall Street Journal!
Despite the national trend, the WSJ continues to gain circulation.

Americans don’t like being lied to. Reporting the truth without the liberal spin has paid off for the Journal.

As the state-run media continues to lose viewers and readers due to their biased and inaccurate reporting the Wall Street Journal is now the top-cirulating newspaper in the United States.
The Politico reported:

Rupert Murdoch may have always wanted—still wants?—to own the New York Times, but the press baron can now boast of owning the top-circulating U.S. paper: The Wall Street Journal.

Staffers in New York were sent a memo today with the subject, “A Toast to our Success – Today at the Hub @ 5:00 pm.”

No word on whether Murdoch will be in attendance, as staffers in the paper’s headquarters celebrate not only taking the number one spot, but continuing to see circulation growth—a rarity in the newspaper industry.

Six months ago, the Journal was the only Top 25 daily to gain in circulation, edging closer to USA Today. When the latest round of numbers from the Audit Bureau of Circulations are released next week, the Journal will come out on top, according to Editor & Publisher.

While the Journal’s circulation rose to 2.02 million copies over the past six months, USA Today dropped 17 percent, down to 1.88 million.

Rush Limbaugh was dropped from the group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams.
ESPN reported, via HotAir:

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the story on Wednesday.

Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a group headed by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts. Checketts said in a statement Wednesday that Limbaugh’s participation had become a complication in the group’s efforts and the bid will move forward without him.

Checketts told the Associated Press he will have no further comment on the bid process.

A final observation, perhaps too obvious to require saying: It’s no coincidence that Democratic Party outlets like CNN had to dredge up fake quotes to make their case. Nothing Rush actually said would do the trick, even though he’s been on the radio three hours a day, five days a week, for more than twenty years. That really tells you all you need to know.

Periodically, a Republican senator is seized with desire to be the front man for the Democrats’ latest regulatory monstrosity in Washington. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is now in the throes of this pathological urge, which usually appears just when defeat seems imminent for a big-government scheme like the Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade energy bill. Democrats and their liberal buddies in the mainstream media need only whisper the magic word “bipartisanship” and soon enough along comes a gullible GOPer to take the bait.

Graham made clear in a Sunday New York Times op-ed written with Sen. John Kerry, D-MA, that he will support cap-and-trade if Democrats agree to expand nuclear power and off-shore oil and natural gas development. Kerry is the Senate point man in the Democrats’ campaign to pass a Senate version of the 1,400-plus page Waxman-Markey bill approved earlier this year by the House. Graham’s approach sounds like a reasonable “let’s just split the difference” compromise. The problem is that no matter what Kerry and the Democrats agree to now in order to sucker Graham and similarly na?ve Republicans, environmental activists and sympathetic federal bureaucrats will file endless legal and administrative challenges to stall and ultimately veto more nuclear power production or development of America’s bountiful off-shore energy supplies. Meanwhile, the Democrats’ cap-and-trade bill will almost immediately begin inflicting devastating economic consequences that will be with us for decades.

Here’s why: The U.S. economy depends on carbon-based fuels, which account for 85 percent of the energy we use. That won’t change anytime soon, no matter how many billions of tax dollars Congress and President Obama spend on alternative energy development. Cap-and-trade establishes a $700 billion government-run “market” for business to buy and sell a steadily declining number of permits for creating carbon emissions. Confusing? Imagine a steadily tightening choke-hold on your windpipe and you’ve got what cap-and-trade will do to America’s economy.

Leftist Thug Manuel Zelaya Restored to Power in Honduras (Updated)

Chavez-lackey Manuel Zelaya will be returned to power in Honduras.
The AFP reported:

Honduran negotiators reached agreement on Wednesday on a plan to restore President Manuel Zelaya to office and end a political crisis triggered by his ouster in a June coup.

“We have agreed in a document on point number six, which relates to the restitution of the powers of state to where they were before June 28, 2009,” Victor Meza, Zelaya’s representative, told a news conference.

Restoring the state to the situation before the coup would imply Zelaya’s return to office, something that had been opposed by Robert Micheletti, the head of the coup-backed interim government.

Micheletti and Zelaya must now ratify the agreement reached by their representatives in talks Tegucigalpa.

The Obama Administration and Census Bureau will not be asking persons for proof of citizenship for the 2010 census.
They say it would be “too expensive” and would “scuttle any chance that the census could be done on time.”
NOLA.com reported:

The Commerce Department and Census Bureau declared Tuesday that an amendment by Sen. David Vitter, R-La., to require the 2010 census to ask all persons their citizenship and immigration status would scuttle any chance that the census could be done on time and would cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

U.S. Sen. David Vitter portrays his amendment as an attempt to keep Louisiana from losing one of its seven congressional districts in the coming reapportionment.The warning came even as the Senate Democratic leadership sought to head off a vote on the Vitter amendment to the Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill. An effort by the leadership to invoke cloture failed Tuesday evening, with the fight over whether to vote on the Vitter amendment, which he co-sponsored with Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, expected to resume today.

Vitter portrays his amendment as a last-ditch effort to protect the political power of Louisiana and other states with relatively small populations of people who are either not citizens or are not legal residents in the United States, and keep Louisiana from losing one of its seven congressional districts in the coming reapportionment.

The decennial census, required by the Constitution to count all “persons,” is used for the purposes of congressional apportionment and legislative redistricting. The result is that places with more people — regardless of their status — get more representation.

Or as Vitter put it in floor debate on his amendment last week, “States that have large populations of illegals would be rewarded for that. Other states, including my home state of Louisiana, would be penalized.”

Vitter said that in addition to Louisiana, the states of Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania and South Carolina “would lose out.” He challenged the senators from those states, “if you vote against this amendment, then you are voting against the interests of your state.”

By far the biggest winner under the existing system is California, followed by Texas, New York and Florida.

But opponents of the measure described it as ill-advised, and in its intent, both unconstitutional and discriminatory.

The Census Bureau, and the Commerce Department of which it is a part, said that 425 million of the 600 million census forms already had been printed, and that even adding an addenda sheet with the Vitter question also would require rewriting software code, reprogramming scanners and retraining census workers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

So, since when did Team Obama worry about spending hundreds of millions of dollars?
They blew over a trillion dollars last year. Hundreds of millions is a drop in the bucket for these democrats.

Of course, this story will be buried by the state-run media.

Now, I’m not trying to elevate this Rams situation beyond its reality because it’s just a subset of this and it’s nothing new. This is just the latest attack. It happens to be more intense than ever, and the leaders of this movement happen to be the august characters of Al Sharpton and the Reverend Jesse Jackson. Remember both of these two hustlers quickly raced down to North Carolina, and they convicted the Duke lacrosse players. They were convinced the Duke lacrosse players were guilty as charged when the whole thing was a lie. That whole episode was based on a lie and the media believed it. And you remember how outraged everybody was about it. To this day there have been no apologies, there have been no apologies from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or the faculty at Duke or anybody that jumped on that case and presumed, because of a prejudice and bigotry, that those white lacrosse players were guilty as charged. You didn’t even need any evidence, it just fit the template.

You got a poor black dancer struggling to stay afloat being hired by a bunch of rich jocks to come over and perform at a party at midnight. Oh, yeah, makes total sense that they would sexually abuse her. Oh, yeah, we don’t even have to question this. Women don’t lie about these kinds of things. And we all know the result of this. And Sharpton and Jackson haven’t said a word about it, they haven’t been held to account nor has anybody been held to account for spreading that lie. That was also an effort to destroy mainstream conservatism. That is what this Obama administration is about, that is what the Democrat Party is, of course, about. And of course now they all have allies in the media, which has sadly lost any dignity, character, and professionalism that it ever had. We have Al Sharpton, who made his bones rabble-rousing and promoting a hoax, which resulted in a policeman being tried. The whole thing was a hoax, and Al Sharpton’s credibility rises to the top. Al Sharpton belongs in this smear. It is a smear characterized by mischaracterization and lies.

By the way, hymies, I think Jesse Jackson called Jews in New York and called New York Hymietown in a conversation with the Washington Post. These are the paragons of virtue that today’s media rely on for source information, for characterization of other people’s fitness. Sharpton, Jackson the perfect drivers of this bus that runs on the fuel of fabrication, emitting its noxious fumes all over the place with a bouffant of righteous indignation and outrage while they’re at the wheel. This is how Sharpton rose to fame with Tawana Brawley. People know him for what he is now, but that’s not the point. Sharpton got himself a nice ride out of that episode. Sharpton’s credibility was enhanced. He’s now a go-to guy for a corrupt national media. There’s a whole bunch of people that have tickets to ride with Sharpton on his bus and Jesse Jackson, and they’re all of the same character…

When the truth comes out, will it be too late? Yeah, for some things possibly, but the big picture, the pursuit of truth is not a sprint, it’s a marathon, and the truth always wins when it comes out. I know this for a fact. This is all not just about me. It’s about every one of us and what kind of country we’re going to have and the effort to discredit those who speak up for liberty, fairness, capitalism, freedom, those of us who speak up pose the biggest threat to the left in this country today. Individualism, rugged individualism, this is not desired, it’s not wanted. And so anybody who has the ability to speak up and be persuasive about it is going to be targeted for a smear and for destruction.
